Halloween Season

Tis the season for ghouls and goblins and sexy ____________(insert noun here). The season for scaring your friends on purpose, for watching scary movies, and for just being scared in general. It's a lot like starting your own service business. :) Cold-calling prospective clients? Scary. Not having a steady paycheck? Spooky. Putting yourself out there and making your own luck? Frightening (for me).

But like Halloween candy, being a small business owner has its perks. I'm actively involved in raising my children (and no longer have a hefty childcare bill). I get to do what I love, instead of trying to love what I do. My stress levels are down and health is vastly improved. Most importantly, though, is my happiness. It's overwhelming, and hard to describe. And it makes the scary, spooky fear seem less important. So, happy Halloween, and here's to the ghouls and goblins!
